Oh my Ruth, that sounds serious. I hope the healing goes well. What kind of therapy are you doing? Is it difficult keeping the poor little bug quiet? Teena has been improving since we started seeing a Naturopathic Vet. There are sometings conventional medicine just can't so. She has been having acupuncture and is taking Chinese herbs and tinctures. We are also going through the antigen diet process...that's tough! So, I'm cooking for them for now. Teena is starting to act like her old silly self again and her smile is back more and more. Makes it all worth the $$$ and work.
Lucky you Ruth to have a vet in the family! Good point about the organic meat I'll have to look at that. I think she is fine for parasites as I have had her on a worming program. I'm mainly trying to find out what is increasing hre LIPA levels. Her only symptoms at the moment are low energy, wanting to graze a lot and the occasional loose stool. Other than that you would never know she was ill. The acupuncture seems to be helping and we are moving from our chicken & rice diet to a pork and either potato or oatmeal diet at the end of the week. It willbe hard finding treats for her that are pork based with potato or oatmeal. I'll so glad when we get through the antigen diet process.
Hi Ruth, your cavies are beautiful. My dream is to have a big family of cavalier king, just like yours. They are so adorable, you can't not love them. I would throw myself in front of any moving vehicle for Miley, too :)
She's lived a couple years on the heart meds - VetMedin - and that's about all they tell you - so I'll love her as long as I have her. That was another reason for bringing in this 1 1/2 yr old boy - I guess I should change my pictures to reflect Carter!
I have 2 13-yr olds -Ceilidh is the only one I got from a breeder - Flying Colors Cavaliers. She's a small tri that was 13 on 7/13/11.
Fancy is my first foster I adopted - 13 in the fall - not sure of exact date but I think around Oct. - She was heart clear until she was almost 10 - then went to a grade 5 in 6 months. Now in CHF. She's a blenheim.
Susie (Wake Up LIttle Susie) is also a tri and she is an adopted rescue about 11. She came to us as a stray. She has a low grade murmur at this time.
Gertie (call her Flirty Gertie) is a 5-6 yr old ruby that was in rescue. LOVES everyone!
My latest addition is 1-2 yr old blenheim boy named Carter - also a rescue - I never realized how special the boys can be - I'd always have girls. Carter is small -only 9.3 lbs.
Would love to have a b/t one of these days - but that will have to wait. Jean

Thanks for your comment Ruth, I did find it and I replied back...sorry to be so long winded.
Thanks Ruth - she already has surprised me that she has lasted this long. Vet medin is really a wonderful drug for quality of life. Jean

What gorgeous names your dogs have
We have only dash at the minute but hoping to add another very soon
Emma
We are no longer the 3 Cavaliers......but the 4 cavaliers!
Libby Laine has joined our pack!
Everyone seems to be getting along. Libby was a runt, so she is extremely small, but fiesty! We adore her.
