Good morning all! Well, the day is finally here; we are meeting my dad and his crew in Davenport, IA tonight! It's been since Ryan was 3 months old that I've seen them, and my husband has never met them. I'm anxious to see what my little sister, Abby, looks like, she was only about a year old when I last saw her (yes, my stepmother is the same age as me :>). My dad and his wife are going to go on to his brother's house up by the Minnesota border, and Abby is going to spend the weekend with us. Tomorrow we're going to take her to a theme park, Saturday we're going to go see the new Eclipse movie (yes, I'm a TwiHard, LOL) and go watch fire works, Sunday we're having a cookout, and Monday my dad and his wife will come here and spend the night. I've taken the day off work Tuesday so we'll have a little more time to spend together. Can you tell I'm excited? LOL!

So, since we're going to be gone for so long this evening, Bosley's barriers are going to shrink until we get back. He had a couple of accidents yesterday while I was at work and Ed was sleeping. Ryan was playing games and forgot to take him out (boy did he get in trouble for that one!). The thing is, he'll go potty by the door, but he's so NON-vocal, he doesn't bark or whine or anything to get your attention to let him out. He'll just go sit by the front door, and if you're not there in like 2 seconds, he just goes. So, the way I look at it, is at least he knows to go to the front door, he just needs to TELL us he's at the front door, LOL! Then I think things would be a lot better. I mean, even if he scratched at the door, if we were in another room we would know he wanted out.

Hmm....how to you train your dog TO bark? Any ideas?

Elizabeth~ Enjoy the time with with your family. As far as teaching Bosley to let you know when he needs to go out you can hang a bell on all the doors and teach him to ring them that is what we did and it works. The Bells are on long ribbon and the actually like nice hanging on the door and all of our dogs ring the bell to go potty. Just a thought. Good Luck and Have a wonderful weekend. Cavalier Hugs~ Happy 4th of July.
