Deaf Cavaliers

My 6 year old cavvy is becoming quite deaf (he 'alerts' to only certain high frequencies). I'm trying to teach him ASL and have read Living With A Deaf Dog by Susan Cope Becker. She gives some great advice but I'm struggling with signs for 'go potty', 'leave it', 'free','cookie', anyone out there have deaf dogs and signs I could use to help with communicating to Oliver?
