I am new to this site too. I am really enjoying seeing other Cavaliers.
My Calavier, Ben and I have been doing therapy work for over a year now.
We joined Therapy Dogs International this summer and visit hospitals, nursing homes and schools in our area. I think Cavaliers were made for this kind of work. We started at 4 months!
If I can supply any other information please let me know. There are several good books on the subject. And I have all the contact info for TDI.

Thanks so much. Any contact information you could share would be great. Maggie and Roxie are just the sweetest dogs ever and I think they would be great at it. They love people, especially children. They are our first Cavaliers and we have fallen in love with them and the breed.

You want to start with the AKC Canine Good Citizen requirements.You can email them at cgc@akc.org. TDI requires you first pass this test before trying for certification.Your dogs are young, they can only take the certification tests with TDI at one year. I started Ben at 4 months and then he took the tests at one year.
