The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Network

A Network for Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Fanciers [TheCavalierNetwork.com]

Hi - Thought I would take the opportunity to kick off this forum. In the event you are viewing this site and have a Cavalier that needs to find a new "forever home" - there are two great organizations that I am aware of that may be able to help you out. Here are the links: www.cavalierrescueusa.org/ or....http://www.luckystarcavalierrescue.org/
We have adopted three cavaliers through foster and participate as a foster family for other cavaliers needing a new home.

I am in total agreement! There is also the Great Chicago Cavalier Rescue for those of you in Illinois. http://www.gccavalierrescue.org/
But the two mentioned above are much larger.

My Cav is a puppy mill rescue dog and his foster mother often works with Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue. I am looking to adopt a second dog soon, preferably a Cav and I would love to get a ruby! I love love the Rubies and think they are the most beautiful dog in the world!
Another link to check out is http://www.cavalierrescueusa.org/Rescue/. If you go ahead and fill out the adoption paperwork for either Lucky Star or Cav Rescue then you will be in the queue when a potential good match arises.

I'm familiar with this Rescue, as I live in the Chicago area, and have local friends who are involved with rescue, as well. I agree with you, regarding puppy mills, and the sad fact is that they aren't going out of business any time soon. These pups still need good homes. There are so many cavaliers out there who need adoption. I applaud all those who detest the mills, but still support the dogs. I also support Cavalier Rescue USA, along with several of my breeder friends.
Hi everyone!

I've been involved with many chinchilla rescues over the last 15 years and now I'm looking to help out with spaniels. :)

I don't have any CKCS yet, but I'm hoping helping with rescues will lead to adopting the right one at the right time. I have 1 iguana and 3 chinchillas - all rescues, and then there are the many who have already passed on. I've had dogs as well - the most recent just passed on this year... she was 16... a lab/shepherd mix - and I currently dog sit to get my "dog fix." :) I work from home on the web doing graphic design and administrative functions, which lends itself to the CKCS since they like people around all the time. :)

I'm a huge dog fan and I've fallen in love with the CKCS breed after meeting two of them through a dog sitting friend. As I said, I haven't adopted one (or two!) yet, but I hope that's where this will end up. I've read up on the personality, know about the potential medical issues involved, learned the basic history, and I'd like to start helping with rescues to learn more before actually looking for that special canine to add to the family. :) (I'm also well aware of how rescues lead to adoptions!)

If anyone needs help getting a RESCUE dog from point A to point B around the San Diego/LA area (or maybe I could help get dogs from Phoenix AZ to good homes in this area?) please let me know. I only have permission from my landlady to keep them a few days at a time right now, but I'm working on cracking her to let me foster on a longer-term basis. :)

Sorry breeders (pro or amateur) - I do not transport dogs for sale. I'm not sure how prolific that request is in the dog community, but I used to get asked all the time for chinchillas so I just wanted to put that out there ahead of time. I will only deal with rescue cases.

Please contact me if I can help out! I'm happy to give you my awesome references, and if you're in the area you're welcome to drop by and check out my home, or I can email pics. I know checking out who is handling the dogs and where the dogs would stay is important - I've done it myself for the exotics.

Thanks for reading and keep in touch. :)

Oh wonderful to have compiled rescue groups links here. Remember, when you adopt a dog, you save a life. So adopt/rescue and do not buy.
