Advice for learning to groom my ruby cavalier

I only trim my Cav's feet. I have a ruby (Solo) and his coat is rather light compared to my tri (Lola). I have gotten bowls that keep their ears out of food and water which helps alot. They also have learned that when they come in from the rain they must be dried off. That is one of the reasons I trim the bottom, between their nails and just a small way up their leg. It gets too wet and messy otherwise.

What kind of bowls do you use to keep the ears out.. i too trim my cavs feet and up the leg just a tad.. i also trim the hair around her bottom so she doesn't have any danglers this last week i had to shave her pits a bit cause there some matts i had totaly missed when grooming! she is a wiggler...so that was fun!
